This is how we designed succession!

The evening event “Managing corporate succession successfully” On March 5, entrepreneurs, successors and interested parties came together to talk about opportunities, challenges and concrete ways of corporate succession. Together with our partners and experts, it became clear that successful succession requires early planning, openness and clear structures.

A big thank you to our hosts and speakers— Michele Matt (Baselland Business Park), Karin Vollenweider (moderation), John Brosi (BDO AG) and Christoph Rubin (Raiffeisenbank Laufental-Thierstein) — for their valuable insights from practice, advice and financing.

The podium was particularly enriching with Chantal Henz, Marcel Weber and Maurice Häner, who spoke openly about their personal experiences in corporate succession and thus brought exciting perspectives from various industries.

Our highlights and learnings:

  • Start succession planning early on — ideally several years in advance
  • Clear roles, expectations and communication between transferor and transferee are crucial
  • Financing, company value and legal structure must be carefully prepared
  • Succession is not only an economic decision, but also an emotional one
  • New entrepreneurs often bring a breath of fresh air and development potential to existing companies

And of course, the personal exchange was also not to be missed: During the aperitif, there were many exciting discussions, new contacts and ideas on the subject of entrepreneurship and succession.
